Lady Cougs Draw on the Road against St. Francis (Ill.)

JOLIET, Ill. – The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team traveled to Joliet, Illinois for their first road match of the season last night, and drew 0-0 with the Fighting Saints. It was a well fought effort from the Lady Cougs as they were hunkered down into defending for a full 90-minutes.

Five Lady Cougs recorded 90-minutes on the match including Amber Morgan, Courtney Tobin, Haley Brenner, Grace Hein, & Abby Wozny. Morgan got the nod in net for the Lady Cougs where she faced 6 shots on frame, making all 6 saves to complete the shutout. As a team, USF tallied 6 shots and 1 corner kick in the match.

Carlee Biddle, Grace Morris, Haley Roberson, & Evelyn Harkenrider each fired off a shot at Krystal Rodriguez who played a full 90-minutes in net for the Fighting Saints. Courtney Tobin also fired off 2 shots to conclude the Cougar attack. 

The Lady Cougs earned their first point for the 2023 Season and now sit at 0-2-1 overall. They will begin their Crossroads League run September 23rd on the road at Taylor University. The Lady Cougars will return home for their next match tomorrow night (Friday 9/1) to play host to Cornerstone University (Mich.). Cornerstone is another WHAC team that currently sits at 0-1 overall, dropping their first match to the Goshen College Maple Leaves, 1-0. Kick-off is set to start at 6pm at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium.
