Lady Cougs Draw on Another Shut-Out

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team played a very well possessed 90-minute match Wednesday night against Indiana University Northwest, drawing 0-0.

Amber Morgan recorded her second shut-out of the season on her 6 shots faced where she made every save. Ava Slater slid into the midfield for the entirety of the match and made a huge difference in her hold-up play and ability to connect with Carlee Biddle who played the role of a false nine. The Cougars held a majority of the possession for the match and outplayed the visiting RedHawks.

As a team, USF fired off 12 shots to IU-Northwest's 6. Jaylin Carroll also played the entirety of the match and was a bright spot in the Cougar back line paired with Abby Wozny, building forward through Grace Morris, Courtney Tobin, & Grace Hein. Nikki Laidley was key off the bench for the cougars as she brought some finesse and urgency to the Cougar attack.

Unfortunately for the Cougars, their execution to find the back of the net fell short tonight. The Lady Cougs are now 0-3-2 overall. USF will play host to Indiana University East Saturday, September 9th for a 2pm kick-off at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium.
