Lady Cougs Blanked by No. 15-Ranked Bethel University (Ind.) Pilots on the Road

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis (Ind,) Women's Volleyball team traveled to Mishawaka, Indiana to take on the No. 15-Ranked Bethel University (Ind.) Pilots for a Crossroads League match-up & dropped the match in 3 sets (3-0).

The Lady Cougars struggled all three sets to find coverage in the back court off the block as the Lady Pilots proved to be a handful at the net. USF dropped their first two sets 25-11 and their final set 25-18. The Lady Cougars started each set off well, leading the Pilots by as many as 5 points, but were unable to capitalize on the momentum. 

The Lady Cougars tallied 17 kills as a team and 21 assists between 4 players. USF also recorded 2 solo blocks coming from Ellie Ferris & Kelby Goldschmeding and 4 assisted blocks between Jones, McMullen, Fortkamp, & Ferris. Senior Libero, Alexis Gregory led with 12 digs & Jo Delsing had 2 service aces to cap off the evening. 

The Lady Cougars are now 5-8 overall and 1-2 in the Crossroads League. USF will continue on the road to Winona Lake, Indiana on Saturday, September 16th for their next match. The Lady Cougars will face off with the Grace College Lady Lancers for a 3pm first serve. The Lady Lancers are 11-2 overall and 2-0 in Crossroads League play, defeating Goshen in 4 sets and No. 15-Ranked Bethel (Ind.) in 3 sets.
