Women's Soccer Edged in Crossroads League Quarterfinals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team faced No. 2 Marian University in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday, November 5. 

The Cougars entered the tournament as the No. 8 seed, while the Knights earned the No. 1 seed as the champions of the CL Regular Season. 

Saint Francis and Marian battled in the first half, with neither team able to find the back of the net as the score remained tied at 0-0 at the intermission. Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Bova made four saves in the opening half to keep the Knights off the scoreboard. 

Marian scored a goal in the 49th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Less than five minutes later, the Knights struck again, extending their lead to 2-0. Despite creating chances and stopping three more shots on the goal from Marian, the Cougars were unable to find the back of the net as MU won the match to move on to the semifinal round of the tournament. 

Bova finished with seven total saves during 90 minutes in goal for SF, while Faith Lewis had a shot land on goal on Wednesday night. 

Saint Francis women's soccer concludes the 2025 season with an overall record of 8-9-1 and a league record of 2-7.
