USF Lady Cougs fall to the Spring Arbor Cougars of Michigan

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Saint Francis Lady Cougars fell on the road to a strong Michigan Cougar side 82-87. This loss dropped USF to 11-14 overall and 7-8 in conference. The Lady Cougs now sit at fifth in Crossroads League standings.

Emily Parrett and Cassidy Crawford led scoring for the Lady Cougs, but the team overall only shot 39% from 3-point range opposed to SAU's 58%. Parrett recorded 2o points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals for her team while Cassidy Crawford also contributed 24 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Julia Mantyla and Reganne Pate also contributed to the offensive for the Cougars tallying a combined 27 points & 6 rebounds. The second half opened up more scoring opportunities for the Lady Cougs in transition, but they couldn't find the sweet touch off the glass to earn the buckets.

Overall, the Lady Cougars shot 52% from the field &38% from 3-point range. SAU outrebounded the Cougs 33:21 and tallied 13 turnovers in comparison to the Cougs 6.

The Lady Cougars will return home Wednesday February, 8th to host the Huntington Foresters. Tip-off will begin at 7pm in Hutzell Athletic Center. The last match-up between the Lady Cougars and the Foresters resulted in a 60-51 win for the Lady Cougs.
