FORT WAYNE, Ind- The University of Saint Francis men's basketball team battled throughout but came up short in an 84–72 loss to (RV) Taylor University on Wednesday, January 7, at the Hutzell Athletic Center.

The Cougars showed good balance offensively to keep the game tight early, trailing just 41–39 at halftime after matching Taylor's pace for much of the opening 20 minutes. 

In the second half, Taylor began to create separation behind efficient shooting and steady scoring, outscoring the Cougars 43–33 over the final 20 minutes to pull away for the 12-point win.

As a team, Saint Francis shot 41.3% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range, while Taylor connected on 52.5% of its shots and 44.4% from beyond the arc. Karson Rogers led the way for Saint Francis with a strong all-around performance, finishing with 23 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. Jevon Lewis added 14 points, while Marr Avance chipped in 12 points. Keshawn McNeill also reached double figures with 10 points.

Up next, Saint Francis (6-9, 1-5 CL) will head to Indianapolis on Saturday, January 10, to face Marian University at 3:00 p.m.
