Alex Ebetino Earns Seventh All-American Accolade, Sets Program Record & Finishes 5th at NAIA National Championship!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - On Friday morning the University of Saint Francis Cougars traveled to Tallahassee, Florida for the NAIA National Championships, and junior All-American Alex Ebetino capped off another stellar season with a fifth-place finish.

There were 326 NAIA cross country runners at the NAIA Championships, and Ebetino completed a time of 17:29.2 in the women's 5K with a 3:27.3 split finishing just one second behind the fourth-place runner from Taylor.

Ebetino ran the third fastest time out of all runners in the Crossroads League, finishing just behind a runner from Huntington who finished second and the fourth-place finisher from Taylor. The junior stud's time of 17:29.2 was her fastest performance all season, nearly 30 seconds quicker than her 17:55.9 timing at the Crossroads League championship.

Her timing in the 5K has also set a program record for fastest time in a women's 5K, breaking her own record from a year ago of 17:51.40.

"We discussed her race plan which was to be in it from the start," Head Coach Brendon Moody said of Alex's performance. "She executed perfectly and she was rewarded with her seventh All-American accolade! When it comes to championship races, we don't bet against her performances or consistency, we are ALL IN."

Earning her seventh All-American accolade has now given Ebetino the honor in cross country in each of her first three years at the university. The Cougars are excited to see what she brings to the table for her senior year.
