Five Cougars Honored as 2022 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athletes are Released

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis athletic department is proud to announce that five members of the Saint Francis Cougars women's cross country team have been honored as 2022 Daktronics NAIA Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes: senior Kelsey Peck, juniors Alex Ebetino, Yami Diaz, and Kayla Quimby, and sophomore Lily Kissner.

The 2022 list features 609 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

"It's no surprise that these five young ladies get it done academically as well as athletically," Head Coach Brendon Moody said of his scholar-athletes. "The hard work they put in inside the classroom is also demonstrated on a daily basis as well as meet day!"

The Cougars are down in Tallahassee, Florida for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships taking place on Friday, November 18 with the men racing at 8:30 am followed by the women's race at 9:30.
