SF Outlasted by #23 SAU in Road League Matchup

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's volleyball team continued Crossroads League play with a road match at No. 23 Spring Arbor University on Saturday, September 20. 

SAU won the match 3-0, with set scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-12. 

The two teams opened the match, battling back and forth in set one. With the score at 14-12 in favor of Saint Francis, SAU tied the game up before retaking the lead with a 6-1 run. Spring Arbor held onto the lead as SAU secured the 25-18 set one win. 

Spring Arbor carried the momentum into sets two and three, winning the match in straight sets. With the win, SAU improved to 15-3 overall and 3-3 in league play. 

The SF Cougars recorded 22 kills against SAU, with Annabelle Sweigert leading the team with six kills and a .357 attacking percentage. Sophomore setter Teigen Fortkamp finished with 19 assists and three aces. Hannah Sweeney had a team-high 10 digs, followed by Katie Mills with nine. 

Up next, Saint Francis (4-14, 0-6 CL) will host No. 22 Taylor University on Wednesday, September 24, in the Hutzell Athletic Center.
