Saint Francis Volleyball Falls to No. 22 Marian

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) volleyball team dropped a road match to No. 22 Marian University on Saturday, October 12. 

The Cougars fell to the Knights by a final score of 3-0, with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-20.

USF rallied in the first set to tie the score at 11-11. The Cougars continued to battle in the first set, cutting Marian's lead to three, but the Knights were able to hang on to win the first set and take the 1-0 lead. Saint Francis continued to battle, but the Knights proved too much as Marian won Saturday's match in straight sets. 

Senior outside hitter Paige Fortkamp led the Cougars with 12 kills and three aces. Teigen Fortkamp led in assists with 22 and digs with 11. Emily Hughes and Kayla Gumbel combined for nine block assists on Saturday night.

Up next, USF volleyball (8-15, 1-10) will host Indiana Wesleyan University during the Cougars' annual Pink Out game on Wednesday, October 16.
