USF Drops in 3 to the RV Knights
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Cougars traveled to Marian University on Saturday afternoon for a Crossroads League match-up with the RV Marian University Knights. First serve was set for 5pm in Odle Arena, and the Cougars fell to the Knights in 3 sets. Set scores were Set 1, 25-19, Set 2 25-17, & Set 3 25-16.
Key performances for the Cougars came from Addison Shafer (6 kills, 1 dig), Alexis Gregory, Paige Fortkamp (7 kills, 10 assists), Kayla Gumbel (5 kills, 1 ace), Jo Delsing, Eliza Madden (5 assists, 2 digs), & Ellie Ferris (6 kills). Fortkamp led with 7 kills, Delsing led with 13 assists, & Gregory led with 20 digs. Kate McMullen also contributed 3 assisted blocks & 3 kills at the net for USF & Kendal Frey had 4 kills as well.
Moving forward, the Cougars will host the Taylor University Trojans tonight for a 7pm first serve in Hutzell Athletic Center. The Cougars are 8-20 overall & 2-13 in CL Play, placing them in 9th overall. USF is one spot behind Taylor in CL Play-off contention.
