Four Cougars Take the Podium as Saint Francis Concludes Crossroads League Championships
MARION, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's and women's outdoor track and field teams wrapped up the Crossroads League Championships on Friday, May 3.
Two Crossroads League Champions, two national qualifying marks, and two All-League performances highlighted day two for the Cougars.
Hannah Boersema bested the competition in women's javelin with a mark of 40.89m (134' 2").
Alex Ebetino raced to a 1st place finish in the women's 5,000m with a time of 17:23.18.
Mariah Maley competed in the 400m hurdles, bringing home 3rd place and All-League honors with a time of 1:05.36.
Victoria Clibon also earned All-League honors after finishing the 3,000m steeplechase with a national qualifying time of 11:21.64, good enough for 3rd place.
Kiara Bahena earned 4th place in the 800m after crossing the finish line with a national qualifying time of 2:15.57.
Madisen Hinderliter took 8th in the hammer with a heave of 43.44m (142' 6").
On the men's side, Cole Miller competed in the hammer throw, finishing the event in 7th place with a mark of 48.81m (155' 4").
When asked about his teams' performances in day two of the Crossroads League Championships, Coach Moody said "all in all we had a very solid day. Nearly every single one of our athletes set lifetime bests in each of their respective events. We will now shift our focus to those athletes qualifying on to the national championships to be contested at the end of the month."
Overall, the Saint Francis women's squad finished the two-day championships in 7th place, while the men's team finished in 10th place.
