NAIA Standard and School Record Highlight SF Performance at Iowa
IOWA CITY, Iowa - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's and women's track and field teams competed against a strong field at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational, hosted by the University of Iowa on January 23–24.
The Cougars closed out the weekend with an NAIA B Standard mark, a new school record and multiple additions to the Saint Francis top-10 performance lists.
Kiara Bahena recorded an NAIA B Standard in the 800m, finishing with a time of 2:16.90.
Hannah Boersema broke the Saint Francis school record in the women's shot put, posting a throw of 12.59 meters (41' 3.75").
Freshman Andrea Pfau turned in two top-10 performances during the meet. She opened the invitational with the fourth-fastest 3,000m time in program history at 10:16.61, then followed with the fourth-fastest mile time in school history at 5:14.99.
Linda Koech added another top-10 mark in the mile, finishing ninth all-time with a time of 5:25.24, while Lauren Moore ran a personal-best 2:25.54 in the 800m to crack the Saint Francis top-10.
Up next, the Cougars will compete at the Joe Banks Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University on January 30.
