Saint Francis Wraps Up Crossroads League Indoor Championships
UPLAND, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) indoor track and field teams competed at the 2025 Crossroads League Championships on February 14-15.
Overall, Saint Francis's women finished in ninth place, while the men placed tenth.
Lea Kunstmann became the first woman in school history to finish the mile run in under five minutes after finishing the race in fourth place with an NAIA 'A' Standard time of 4:59. 55. Kunstmann also ran the third-best time in school history in the 1,000m with a fifth-place finish at 3:02.92.
Hannah Boersema set a school record in the Pentathlon with 2,814 total points. During the pentathlon, she also broke the USF record in the high jump with a mark of 1.54m.
The 4x400m relay team of Rileigh Baumer, Kiara Bahena, Mariah Maley, and Lillee Stewart also broke the school record with a time of 4:07.77, good enough for fifth place at the league championships.
Bahena also earned All-Crossroads League honors in the 800m after crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 2:19.58. In the 600m, Bahena ran the second fastest time at Saint Francis with a time of 1:38.42.
Baumer ran a new personal best and Saint Francis top-10 mark in the 800m with a time of 2:25.32.
Up next, USF's National Qualifiers will prepare for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships that will take place in Gainesville, Florida from February 27- March 1.
