Cougars Open Spring Season at Alma
ALMA, Mich. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's tennis team opened the spring season at Alma College on Friday, February 13. The Cougars fell to the Scots 7-0.
Alejandra Parra rallied at No. 1 singles after dropping the opening set 6-2, responding with a 6-0 second-set win to force a super tiebreak. Alma's Karly Kushner secured the match with a 10-8 decision in the tiebreak.
At No. 2 singles, Isabela Florez battled but was defeated in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
Anna Yoder also made a comeback effort at No. 4. After falling 6-2 in the first set, she answered with a 7-6(5) win in the second to push the match to a super tiebreak. Alma's Holly Hall claimed the point with a 10-3 tiebreak victory.
Up next, Saint Francis women's tennis (0-1) will travel to Greentown for a non-league match against Indiana University Kokomo on Wednesday, February 18.
