Bio
Ken Nuber is entering his fifth season as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at the University of Saint Francis, having returned to the program for the 2021 season.
Nuber began his coaching career as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at USF in 1994 and spent five seasons in that role. He founded the Women’s Soccer program in 1995 and led both the men’s and women’s teams until 1999. In its inaugural season, the women's program posted a 6-11 record. The Cougars went on to achieve 11 consecutive winning seasons, earning Mid-Central College (MCC) conference titles in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2003.
Under Nuber’s guidance, USF has achieved a cumulative record of 188-136-27 (.574).
After 14 successful years at Saint Francis, Ken Nuber joined the University of Notre Dame as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program. During his tenure at Notre Dame, he helped the team reach three NCAA Final Four appearances and win a National Championship in 2010. Over five years with the Fighting Irish, Nuber’s teams compiled an impressive record of 94 wins, 21 losses, and 8 draws.
In 2013, Nuber shifted his focus to youth soccer, becoming the Executive Director and Director of Coaching at the Jr. Irish Soccer Club. This well-respected club has produced players who have gone on to various levels of college soccer, including NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA. Notable former Jr. Irish players currently compete at institutions such as Notre Dame, Ball State, IUPUI, Purdue Fort Wayne, Bethel, Goshen, and Saint Francis.
In 2017, Nuber took over as head coach at Mishawaka Marian High School, where he recorded a record of 45- 28- 11 draws, including a Semi-State appearance in 2019. The 2020 Knights spent much of the season ranked as the top team in the state for Class 2A.
Ken Nuber graduated from Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Saint Francis in 1993. He has also pursued coaching certifications, including a National Diploma from United Soccer Coaches in 1997, an Advanced National Diploma in 1999, and a Premier Diploma, along with a National B License from the United States Soccer Federation.
Ken and his wife, Gina (a USF graduate), are proud parents of two children: a daughter, Mya (20), and a son, Jayden (18).
