Women's Soccer Falls to Taylor in Crossroads League Opener
UPLAND, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team traveled to Taylor University to open Crossroads League play on Wednesday, September 26. The Cougars fell to the Trojans by a final score of 7-0.
Taylor took control of the game early, netting a goal in the first five minutes of action. USF fired off three shots in the first 24 minutes, but the Cougars were unable to find the back of the net. The Trojans would go on the score four more goals in the first half to take the 5-0 lead at halftime.
The Trojans' defense kept the Cougars at bay as Taylor would go on to win Wednesday night's conference opener 7-0.
As a team, USF was able to get off four shots against a tough Taylor defense. Haleigh Wesley and Carlee Biddle both had a shot on goal, while Kayden Tassler and Rachel Bova had a combined five saves in goal for the Cougars.
Up next, USF women's soccer (7-1-2, 0-1-0) will host Indiana Wesleyan University for a home conference game on Saturday, September 28 during Homecoming Weekend on the campus of Saint Francis.
