Lady Cougs start their 2023 Season off with Room for Improvement
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's golf team opened the '23/'24 season at the Brookwood Invitational (hosted by Huntington University) on Monday 9-4 and Tuesday 9-5.
The Lady Cougs started their 2023 season on the backfoot as the surface was slick. On day one of the Invitational, the ladies shot a 342 to go along with the 341 at the end of the pack. Saint Francis was led by junior Ava Warren who posted scores of 83/77. Ava's 77 ties a personal best. Ava had 4 birdies during her round which offset an 8 on a par 4 and a double bogey on her final hole!
On day 1, the Cougars were led by senior Melissa Francis a 79. The Lady Cougars will be back in action on September 18th and 19th in the Cardinal Classic in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
