No. 6 Cougars Earn 74–41 Home Win Over Maple Leafs

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The No. 6 University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team rolled past visiting Goshen College, 74–41, inside the Hutzell Athletic Center on Saturday, February 7.

After a slow offensive start, Saint Francis took control late in the first quarter, holding a 13–9 advantage. The Cougars opened the second quarter with a 10–3 run to push the lead to 23–12 at the 5:54 mark and continued to build separation, outscoring Goshen 23–10 in the period to carry a 36–19 lead into halftime.

Saint Francis maintained its momentum in the second half, controlling both ends of the floor. The Cougars extended their lead throughout the third and fourth quarters, reaching their largest margin at 74–38 with 1:33 remaining. SF closed out the 33-point victory to improve to 12–2 in Crossroads League play, while Goshen fell to 1–13 in league action.

The Cougars shot a 52.7% (29-55) from the field and 92.9% (13-14) from the free-throw line. Five Saint Francis players scored in double figures, led by Taylor Fordyce's 15 points. Isabella Gizzi and Cali Gregory added 11 points apiece, with Gregory also recording five rebounds and a block. Julia Mantyla finished with 10 points, and Allison Scheu contributed 10 off the bench.

Up next, SF women's basketball (22-2, 12-2 CL) will travel to Upland for a Crossroads League matchup against (RV) Taylor University on Wednesday, February 11. The Cougars defeated the Trojans by a final score of 62-44 in their first meeting of the season.
