No. 7 Saint Francis Dominates Goshen in Crossroads League Road Win

GOSHEN, Ind. - The No. 7 University of Saint Francis women's basketball team returned to Crossroads League play with a commanding 73–28 road victory at Goshen College on Saturday, December 3.

Saint Francis set the tone early, holding Goshen scoreless through the opening five minutes while jumping out to a 12–0 lead. The Cougars limited the Maple Leafs to just seven points in the first quarter and carried a 21–7 advantage into the second. SF continued its strong start with an 11–0 run early in the second quarter, pushing the lead to 32–7 at the 6:19 mark. Saint Francis kept Goshen under 20 points in the first half and entered halftime ahead 38–14.

The Cougars maintained their momentum after the break, outscoring Goshen 24–6 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 62–20. Saint Francis again held the Maple Leafs under double figures in the fourth quarter, cruising to the 73–28 victory to improve to 4–1 in Crossroads League action. With the loss, Goshen fell to 3–12 overall and 0–5 in league play.

Saint Francis shot 49.1% (28-27) from the field and 41.7% (10-24) from beyond the arc while outrebounding Goshen 40–30 and forcing 21 turnovers. Cali Gregory and Taylor Fordyce led the Cougars with 17 points apiece. Gregory also pulled down five rebounds while dishing out four assists. Isabella Gizzi led the Cougars with six rebounds and five steals while adding 12 points. Renna Schwieterman chipped in nine points and five rebounds.

Up next, the Cougars (14–1, 4–1 CL) will return home to host Taylor University on Wednesday, January 7, at 5:30 p.m. inside the Hutzell Athletic Center.
