Strong Second Half Sends No. 6 Saint Francis Past Webber International 64-44

BABSON PARK, Fla. - In their first matchup in the Sunshine State, the No. 6 University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team earned a 64–44 victory over Webber International University on Friday, December 12.

Saint Francis built an early lead, leading 14–9 after the opening quarter. A three-pointer pushed the Cougars' lead to 21–11 at the 8:23 mark of the second, but Webber responded with a run to cut the deficit to one by halftime, with the score at 27-26 in favor of SF at the break.

The Cougars took control in the third quarter, limiting the Warriors to just eight points while scoring 15 to extend the lead to 42–34. Saint Francis continued to pull away in the fourth, using an efficient offensive performance to build a 27-point advantage with just over two-and-a-half minutes remaining before closing out the 64–44 win. With the win, SF improved to 11–1 on the season, while Webber fell to 4–5.

Saint Francis shot 56.1% (23–41) from the field and 45.0% (9–20) from three-point range. Three Cougars scored 12 points apiece—Isabella GizziCali Gregory, and Taylor Fordyce—with Gizzi  and Fordyce each adding four rebounds and three assists. Julia Mantyla and Renna Schwieterman finished with 11 points, while Schwieterman also pulled down a team-high six rebounds. Abby Stoddard added five boards.

Up next, Saint Francis wraps up its Florida trip with a non-league matchup against Southeastern University on December 13.
