ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The No. 11 University of Saint Francis women's basketball team concluded its non-conference slate with a 73-42 win at Rochester Christian on Saturday, December 28. 

Saint Francis and Rochester Christian battled back and forth in the first five minutes of Saturday afternoon's matchup. The Cougars were able to snag an 18-13 lead at the end of the opening quarter after holding the Warriors scoreless to just four points in the last four minutes of the first. In the second quarter, USF continued to dominate, holding RCU to under 10 points and outscoring them 19-7. By halftime, the Cougars led 37-20.

USF again held their opponents below double digits in the third quarter while shooting 56.3% en route to a 58-27 lead going into the fourth quarter. Makenzie Fuess made a pair of free throws to give the Cougars their largest lead of the afternoon, 37 points with the score at 68-31 at the 5:49 mark of the fourth. Saint Francis went on to win Saturday's game by a final score of 73-42, securing their 14th straight win to stay undefeated on the season.

As a team, the Cougars shot 47.3% (26-55) from the field and outscored the Warriors in the paint 32-18. Isabella Gizzi led USF with 19 points, three steals and a block in 25 minutes of action. Julia Mantyla shot 5-5 from the floor en route to 11 points. Cassidy Crawford finished the afternoon with a team-high four assists and six rebounds while coming away with three steals and a block. Lexi Shelton also grabbed six rebounds on Saturday.

Up next, USF women's basketball (14-0, 4-0) will open the new year with a home game against the No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats on January 4 at 1:00 p.m.
