Cougars Defeat the Pilots for 1st Win of 2024
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team played host to the Bethel University (Ind.) Pilots for their first game of 2024. The Cougars emerged victorious, stumping the Pilots with a 70-59 final score. USF is now 9-4 overall and 2-2 in Crossroads League Play.
After a challenging December tenure, the Cougars bounced back to have their way with the Pilots. The Cougars shot 50.9% as a team from the field, 44% from 3-point range, and 87.5% from the free throw line (14-for-16).
Reganne Pate led in overall scoring for USF, tallying 22-points (7-for-12 from the field, 6-for-10 from 3-pt. range). Ally Madden came off the bench with 14-points & 4 rebounds, while going 4-for-4 from the line. Chloe McKnight rounded out the group with 11-points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and a steal. Taylor Fordyce also chimed in with 6 assists as well.
USF will continue on Saturday January 6th on the road in Marion, Indiana. The Cougars will take on the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats who are currently Ranked No. 2 in the NAIA. The Wildcats are 13-1 overall and 4-0 in CL play, sitting in first.
