Bio

Ryan Bolyn was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in January 2026 and will continue in his role as head softball coach as he enters his 22nd season leading the program.

During Bolyn’s tenure, Saint Francis softball has produced more than 54 all-conference or all-tournament selections and over 60 NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes. The program celebrated several historic milestones under his leadership, including its first NAIA All-American (Erica Smith Sorenson) and Academic All-American (Alyssa Keller) in 2015. In 2019, Breanna Pryor earned NAIA All-American honors, while teammate Lizzie Meyer was named an Academic All-American. Following the 2025 season, Abby Robakowski was named NAIA Second Team All-American and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-American.

A 2001 Saint Francis graduate, Bolyn played baseball for three seasons (1997–99) and golf for one year (2000–01). He later served as a volunteer assistant golf coach at Saint Francis from 2003–08 and as head coach of the women’s tennis team from 2005–07. Bolyn currently ranks first in program history with 377 career wins. He began his coaching career in baseball at Wayne High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during the 2000–01 season.

Bolyn and his wife, Melissa, also a 2001 Saint Francis graduate, reside in Uniondale, Indiana, with their sons, Brody and Reid.
