Tori Miller Earns First Team All-Conference & Anna Smith Makes 2022 Softball CL All-Tourney Team
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis softball team is excited to announce that junior catcher Tori Miller has earned a spot on the 2022 first team All-Crossroads for her performance during the 2022 season.
During the course of the season, Miller led all Cougar batters with a .372 batting average and also slugged eight home runs and drove in 31 RBI's in 49 games played. Her slugging percentage of .634 led all the team by over 30 points as the Cougars battled to a 25-25 record and a spot in the Crossroads League Tournament.
In addition to Miller, freshman second baseman Anna Smith earned a spot on the Crossroads League Softball All-Tournament Team.
Smith became an everyday player in the second half of the season for the Cougars where she collected 28 hits, scored 26 runs, and hit .277 as she helped propel the Cougars to a strong finish in the regular season.
Making the All-Crossroads League second team was junior pitcher Mackenzie Rust. The junior hurler was the ace for the Cougars throughout the season where she went 13-11 with 16 compete games and struck out 106 batters against just 34 walks averaging 5.39 strikeouts per seven innings.
Third baseman Dani Karr also made the second team all-conference where she finished behind Miller in batting average by hitting .356 over 44 games played while driving in 23 runs, getting four hits, and scoring 16 times herself.
Shortstop Brooklyn McCord was an honorable mention with the all-conference team with her .363 batting average over 45 games played.
