Cougars Finish Seventh at Crossroads League Championships

MARION, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2025 Crossroads League Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 7.

This year's league championships were held on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University at the IWU Cross Country Course. 

The Cougars finished in seventh place with a team time of 2:11:27. Indiana Wesleyan won this year's race, followed by Taylor University in second place and Spring Arbor University in third.

Saint Francis was led by Zane Strydom, Emmanuel Langat and Festus Kurgat. Strydom was the first Cougar to cross the finish line, finishing at 26:04.4. He was followed closely by Langat at 26:05.4 and Kurgat at 26:06.0. Evan Pitts finished next with a time of 26:12.3.

"The men experienced a rough day, and unfortunately, things didn't come together for us," said Coach Moody. "We have a strong group of underclassmen that we will keep building upon."

Founded in 1890 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, the University of Saint Francis offers more than 60 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through the College of Health Sciences and the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business. In addition to its traditional programs, Saint Francis designs focused curricula for working adults in Fort Wayne, Crown Point, Lafayette and online. More than 1,900 students from a broad geographic region attend Saint Francis.
