Men's Cross Country Takes on National Catholic Championship
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis cross country teams traveled to South Bend to compete in the National Catholic Championship hosted by the University of Notre Dame on Friday, September 19.
The Cougars raced in a competitive field, finishing in 12th place overall.
Freshman Zane Strydom led Saint Francis, finishing the 8k race in a time of 26:18.1. Emmanuel Langat followed with a time of 27:10.5. Kelvin Sanja Etiang and Dylan Anspach were the next two Cougars to cross the finish line at 27:49.7 and 28:00.0.
"Both men's and women's programs ran well, given the scorching temperatures, said head coach Brendon Moody. "We know the times are not indicative of the current fitness, and both teams raced well over the latter parts of the race."
Up next, Saint Francis will hit the road to compete at Live at Louisville on October 4.
