Cougars Turn in Strong Showing at Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) outdoor track and field teams competed at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open hosted by Cedarville University on Saturday, March 28.
The Cougars placed 14th out of 33 NAIA and NCAA teams. Saint Francis recorded six top-10 finishes along with several program top-10 performances.
Vincent Purcell finished third in the 400m with a time of 49.94, marking the third-fastest time in program history.
Emmanuel Langat placed fifth in the 1,500m in 3:58.47, the third-fastest time in school history. Langat also ran a top-10 time in the 800m, finishing seventh in 1:57.72.
Zane Strydom and Taylor Stubbins also recorded new program top-10 marks in the middle-distance events. Strydom finished the 800m in 1:58.87 and the 1,500m in 4:02.40.
Festus Kurgat added another top-10 performance in the 1,500m with a time of 4:09.02.
In the distance events, Evan Pitts and Dylan Anspach recorded top-10 program times in the 10,000m, finishing in 33:26.51 and 34:14.08, respectively.

Up next, the Cougars will compete at the Indiana Tech Easter Invite on Monday, April 1 at Warrior Park in Fort Wayne.
