Cougars Post School Record, Event Wins at Pioneer Invite

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) track and field teams opened the outdoor season at the Pioneer Invite, hosted by Transylvania University, on Saturday, March 21.

The Cougars recorded multiple top-10 finishes and all-time program top-10 performances, highlighted by one school record.

Drew Boggs won the high jump with a new program record of 1.97m (6' 5.5").

Quinn Clayton won the 800m with a time of 2:02.81.

The 4x400m relay team of Daniel Davis, Benjamin Marano, Vincent Purcell and Clayton posted a top-10 program time of 3:36.79 to win the event.

The 4x100m relay team consisting of Purcell, Austin Kates, Clayton and Abdallah Ahmed finished fourth with a top-10 program time of 44.12.

In the 5,000m, Emmanuel Langat placed fourth with the fourth-fastest time in school history at 15:38.94. Zane Strydom followed with a fifth-fastest time in program history, finishing in 15:41.61.

Up next, the Cougars will travel to the University of North Carolina Asheville to compete in the Asheville Bulldog Invite on April 10-11.
