Two School Records Highlight Outdoor Opener for Saint Francis

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) track and field teams kicked off the outdoor season at the Falcon Classic and Multi, hosted by the University of Montevallo on Friday, March 14. The Cougars highlighted their outdoor opener with two school records.

Joey Rauwerda set a new school record in the pole vault by achieving an NAIA 'A' Standard mark of 5.00m (16' 4.75").

Freshman Hugo Humbert also set a new school record in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:48.39.

Benjamin Marano  secured a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.84, which ranks him second on the USF all-time top 10 list.

Quinn Clayton set a new top-10 time in the 400m as well, finishing in 52.12 seconds.

Next up, the Cougars will compete at the Blizzard Buster, hosted by Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, on March 22., with two school records highlighting the outdoor opener for the Cougars.
