Saint Francis Closes Indoor Season at Crossroads League Championships

MARION, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) concluded the indoor season at the Crossroads League Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 20-21.

As a team, the Cougars finished 10th overall. Two school records, seven top-five finishes and multiple additions to the Saint Francis top-10 list highlighted the weekend.

The 4x400m relay team of Vincent Purcell, Quinn Clayton, Abdallah Ahmed and Benjamin Marano set a new school record with a fifth-place time of 3:23.39. Clayton also broke the Saint Francis school record in the 600m, finishing eighth overall with a time of 7.31.

The 4x800m relay team of Kreston TowNick Minneci, Kelvin Sanja Etiangand Evan Pitts ran the eighth-fastest time in school history at 8:51.75. Pitts also added two top-10 marks, clocking 16:11.54 in the 5,000m and 9:07.41 in the 3,000m.

Emmanuel Langat recorded the second-fastest 3,000m time in school history, placing fifth in 8:37.01. Zane Strydom added another runner-up mark in the record book, posting the second-fastest 1,000m time in program history at 2:33.51 to finish seventh.

Ahmed turned in a Saint Francis top-10 performance in the 600m (1:29.61), while Taylor Stubbins moved into the top-10 list in the 800m with a time of 1:58.67. Purcell also competed in the 200m, finishing ninth with a time of 22.78.

In field events, Drew Boggs recorded the ninth-best long jump in program history at 6.28m (20' 7.25") to finish ninth, and placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.94m (6' 4.25").
