SF Men's Tennis Closes Regular Season Versus Bethel

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's tennis team closed out the regular season against (RV) Bethel University on Saturday, April 18. The Cougars fell to the Pilots by a final score of 6-1. 

Bethel claimed the doubles point after winning No. 2 doubles 6-1 and No. 3 doubles 6-2. 

Juan Andres Wilches battled back at No. 1 singles after dropping the first set, winning set two 6-2 before taking the tiebreak 11-9 for the victory. 

Jorge Cebria fought hard at No. 2 singles, but fell short 7-5, 2-6, 10-8. At No. 3 singles, Hugo Gonzalez Cabanas fell 6-3, 6-0. Gerard Cuixart battled at the No. 4 spot but fell short 6-2, 6-3.

Alvaro Adrio was defeated at No. 5 singles, and Devon McCaffrey rounded out the singles lineup at No. 6 singles, falling by scores of 7-5, 6-1. 

The Cougars close out the regular season with an overall record of 8-7 and a league record of 2-7. Saint Francis will face No. 10 Huntington University in the Crossroads League Quarterfinals hosted by the Foresters on Monday, April 20.
