Cougars Down Little Giants 5-2
WABASH, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's tennis team downed the Wabash College Little Giants by a final score of 5-2 on Saturday, February 21.
The No. 1 doubles team of Jorge Cebria and Juan Andres Wilches opened the match with a 6-2 victory. Wabash was able to secure the doubles point after claiming wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
In singles play, Wilches added another point at the No. 1 spot with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 victory over Cole Shifferly. Cebria followed with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles.
Gerard Cuixart battled to a 6-4, 2-6, 13-11 win at No. 3, while Hugo Gonzalez Cabanas earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Blake Discher II. Alvaro Adrio capped the singles victories with a 0-6, 6-3, 10-1 comeback win.
Up next, SF men's tennis will open Crossroads League play at No. 22 Marian University on Sunday, February 22. Match time is slated for 1:30 p.m. in Indianapolis.
