Cougars Defeat MVNU (Ohio) on the Road
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Men's Tennis teams traveled to Mount Vernon, Ohio for some Coug on Coug action against the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougars.
The Men's team dominated the MVNU Cougars with a 6-1 final. The Men won every doubles contest they faced against MVNU. Quentin Spears & Eric Stavnheim defeated Hare & Tones of MVNU 7-5 in the first doubles match of the evening. Devon McCaffrey & Martin Maurant kept the momentum going into the second match defeating MVNU's Amburgy & Faucetl, 6-2. JJ Jacobs & Enzo Bozonnett also defeated their opponents 6-2 for a sweep in the Men's Doubles Contests.
Stavnheim was the only USF Cougar to drop his singles match, but did so by pushing to 3 sets. Spears, Maurant, Bozonnett, Andres Pena, & Will Daigle all defeated their opposing Cougs in 2 sets.
The Cougars will be in action on Thursday, September 7th where they will play host to the Huntington University Foresters. USF will play at the Swinney Tennis Courts in Fort Wayne, Indiana for all of their Home matches this season. First serve is set for 4pm.
