Saint Francis Unable to Slow Down Madonna

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's soccer team was unable to slow down a hot Madonna attack on Wednesday, September 3, falling 4-0 to the Crusaders at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium. 

Madonna University (4-0) wasted no time grabbing the lead, scoring just 50 seconds into the match whenJordy Lopezfound the back of the net unassisted. Lopez struck again in the 49th minute to double the lead before the Crusaders added two more goals in the final 20 minutes.Jhonnier Torresconverted in the 74th minute off a setup fromRyushin Hirami, andRyan Rowlandclosed the scoring in the 84th minute. 

Despite the final score, Saint Francis generated offensive chances with 10 total shots, including seven on target.Wesley Kashenje and Paul Scheifele each recorded shots on frame. Crusaders goalkeepersAfonso HenriqueandAlvaro Lopezcombined for six saves to keep SF off the board. 

Cougars goalkeeperKevin Wachiaya Oneliusfaced constant pressure, making five saves on nine shots on goal. 

Up next, Saint Francis men's soccer (1-3, 0-0 CL) will travel to Lourdes University on Saturday, September 6, for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
