SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's soccer team earned a shutout win at Lawrence Technological University, as the Cougars beat the Blue Devils by a final score of 1-0 on Saturday, September 7.
USF and LTU combined for five shots as the two teams fought through a scoreless first 45 minutes of action.
The Cougars were narrowly outshot 11-8 in the second half, but the score remained tied 0-0. As time ran down in Saturday night's game, freshman Joshua Boschveld netted the game-winning goal with less than three minutes left on the clock, assisted by Mika Leib. With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-3-0 overall on the season.
As a team, Saint Francis took seven shots and had three corner kicks during Saturday night's game. USF goalkeeper Toby Lewis finished the night with five saves.
