Boschveld's Late Goal Leads Cougars Past Blue Devils

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's soccer team earned a shutout win at Lawrence Technological University, as the Cougars beat the Blue Devils by a final score of 1-0 on Saturday, September 7. 

USF and LTU combined for five shots as the two teams fought through a scoreless first 45 minutes of action. 

The Cougars were narrowly outshot 11-8 in the second half, but the score remained tied 0-0. As time ran down in Saturday night's game, freshman Joshua Boschveld netted the game-winning goal with less than three minutes left on the clock, assisted by Mika LeibWith the win, the Cougars improve to 3-3-0 overall on the season.

As a team, Saint Francis took seven shots and had three corner kicks during Saturday night's game. USF goalkeeper Toby Lewis finished the night with five saves. 

Up next, USF men's soccer will host Lourdes University at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium on Wednesday, September 11.
