LIVONIA, Mich. - The University of Saint Francis men's soccer team took on the Madonna Crusaders on the road on Saturday, August 31. The Cougars dropped Saturday's non-conference match by a final score of 3-0.

The first half of action saw a lot of back and forth between Saint Francis and Madonna, with neither team able to gain offensive momentum. Combined, both squads had one shot in the first 45 minutes, with the score tied 0-0 at halftime.

The Cougars and Crusaders came out of the locker room aggressive, with both teams able to find offensive pushes and fire a total of 12 shots in the second half. Madonna was able to find the back of the net three times in the second half to take a 3-0 lead. USF would respond with three shots in the final 10 minutes of Saturday afternoon's game, but the Cougars were unable to score, with the Crusaders taking the match to improve to 3-0-1 on the season.

Christian Walter and Paul Scheifele each had a shot on goal during Friday's match. Saint Francis goalkeeper Jannik Reiss collected two saves.

Up next, USF men's soccer (1-3) will travel to Siena Heights University for a road game against the Saints on Tuesday, September 3.
