Men's Golf playing through tough conditions at Keene Trace CC
The men's golf team got off to a solid start on Monday 3-25 at, very tough, Keene Trace CC. The weather started off cool and sunny, but warmed up as the day went along. The wind also freshened up to around 25 mph but the Cougs hung tough and posted a solid score of 323. That put them in 10th place (out of 23 teams). The second round was also played on Monday (11 ½ hours of continuous play) afternoon. The Cougars held steady in the afternoon, with the wind howling, and posted a 324. They dropped 1 spot to 11th after the second round. The third round was Tuesday morning (4-26) and was played in less than ideal conditions. Temps were in the low 40's as play began with winds blowing around 20mph. Rain moved in shortly after the start and continued the entire day. Winds gusting between 30mph-40mph along with the sideways rain made scoring almost impossible. The Cougars posted a 339 and finished in 14th place. Bailey Marquart lead the team with rounds of 82-78-80 to finish T31. Wyatt Johnson was next with rounds of 82-76-87 and placed T40. Levi Follett started strong with rounds of 79-80 but then ballooned to a 94 in the less than favorable conditions. Seth Roop 88-88-84, and Donny Dimberio 80-94-88 were the other players for USF.
The men's next event will be April 1st in the All Fools Day Classic at Rock Hollow GC.
