Antwaan Cushingberry Earns NAIA All-American Honors with David Ejah an Honorable Mention
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis athletic department is excited to announce that junior guard Antwaan Cushingberry from No. 16 Cougars basketball has earned NAIA All-American Honors for the third consecutive year, and sophomore forward David Ejah earned Honorable Mention.
During the 2021-22 season, the Cougars compiled a 24-9 record while going 13-6 in conference play. Cushingberry led the team throughout the season in scoring with 724 points, and also totaled 178 rebounds, 59 steals, and 151 assists as he also earned a spot on the First-Team All-Crossroads League.
"Cush has worked extremely hard over his career at USF, and being named in a Second-Team NAIA All-American is a testament to the hard work he puts in," Head Coach Chad LaCross said. "I'm extremely proud of him and happy for him to receive this honor as I feel like he is one of the best guards in the country."
On the other hand, David Ejah was nearly as impressive during his breakout season. He led the team in rebounds with 305 during the season, got 26 steals, led the team with 21 blocks, and totaled 658 points.
"David prepared himself like an All-American this past year, and for him to be recognized as an honorable mention All-American is a great honor," Coach LaCross said. "I know this will fuel David this off-season to climb up that ladder and have even a better year at USF next season."
After crowning the 84th NAIA Men's Basketball National Champion on Tuesday, the NAIA announced its selections of the 2021-22 NAIA Men's Basketball All-America Teams.
