Bio
Willis Sands joined the University of Saint Francis coaching staff in the spring of 2024. The 2025 season will mark his second season on the Cougars’ sidelines.
Sands came to Fort Wayne after serving as the Defensive Backs Graduate Assistant at Carthage College for two seasons. Sands earned his Masters in Sports Leadership in Education from Carthage in 2023.
Sands earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Manchester University located in North Manchester, Ind., where he was also a was a starting linebacker for the Spartans. During his time at Manchester, Willis earned Honorable Mention All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and totaled over 100 tackles and five interceptions in 28 games played across three seasons. During the 2020 football season, Sands also served as a student-assistant coach at Manchester.
Willis is a native of Miramar, Fla.
