18th USF football schedule set for 2015
FORT WAYNE, Ind. University of Saint Francis football will play a 10-game schedule in 2015, the 18th season for the program, starting with a Sat., Sept. 5 game under the lights on the new surface at Bishop D'Arcy Stadium / Kevin Donley Field.
Olivet Nazarene University will be the Cougars first opponent, a Mid-States Football Association crossover game. ONU is a member of the MSFA Midwest League. USF is playing its 18th season in the MSFA Mideast League, all under head coach Kevin Donley, who is the NAIA record-hold for career wins with 278. Donley, entering his 37th season as a collegiate head coach, is 278-127-1. USF is 164-42 and has 16 consecutive winning seasons.
The opener against ONU is the only home night game on the 2015 schedule. USF will play a night game at Taylor the following Saturday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.
The Cougars (6-5 overall, 4-2 MSFA MEL/3rd in 2014) will play six MSFA MEL games in 2015 including new MSFA MEL members Lindenwood-Belleville and Missouri Baptist. Opponents ranked in the spring NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 include No. 2 Marian University (Oct. 3) and No. 20 Robert Morris (IL), which will compete in the MSFA MWL in 2015.
USF's final regular-season home game is set for Nov. 7 against Redemption Christian College, which is located in Virginia and will play its first season of football in 2015.
