Bio

Dave Ivy is a 23-year USF veteran coach, having joined the program as outside linebacker coach in 1998 after coaching four years at the high school level in the Fort Wayne area. A graduate from Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne, Ivy brings more than 32 years of coaching experience to the Cougar staff.

Ivy, a native of Fort Wayne, played his prep football at Northrop High School and is a 1979 NHS graduate. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Northwood Middle School before being named head coach. In 1992, he accepted the defensive coordinator position at Elmhurst High School and in 1995 was the defensive line coach at Snider High School. He continues to serve as an assistant track and field coach at South Side High School. Ivy took on additional duties as equipment manager for the Cougars in 2008 and continues to serve in that capacity. He received a bachelor’s degree from IPFW in 1991. He currently owns and operates his own business in Fort Wayne.
