WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- Kyle Jordan had the finishing touch the University of Saint Francis needed and the Lady Cougars edged Grace College 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

Jordan put USF in front for good striking back in a deflection from the 15 into the upper 90 with just over six minutes to play in the match.

"A real good shot," USF coach Christy Young recalled.

The Lady Cougars climbed to 3-1 in Mid-Central College Conference play and are in third place with a showdown against co-leader Indiana Wesleyan at Coonan Field on Friday at 4 p.m.

Grace, which was ranked above USF, tied the match at 1 on a penalty kick, then got another penalty kick and a chance to take a 2-1 lead in the first half.

"Emma (McCoy) made a diving save to preserve the tie at the time, a really crucial save," USF coach Christy Young said.

Sara Glassley put USF in front 1-0 with an assist from Melissa Ellisen. Angie Carrusone scored to regain the lead for the Lady Cougars with an assist from Jordan.
