

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- It only took a little over an hour for the Lady Cougars to capture their 11 win of the season giving them an 11-7 record and sweeping the Saint Xavier Cougars 3-0 leaving them with a 7-18 record. Saint Xavier has only won 3 of their last 18 games.
The Lady Cougars came in ready to play dominating the first game over the Saint Xavier
Cougars 25-9. In the second game Saint Xavier woke up and gave the Lady Cougars a fair
match. The game was back and forth exchanging point for point. The game went 3-3
then 8-8 and tied again at 13. After a Saint Xavier timeout the Lady Cougars went up
19-15 and did not trail Saint Xavier again. The Lady Cougars beat Saint Xavier 25-23.
The final game of the day was not much different for the Lady Cougars as they once
again dominated Saint Xavier. The Lady Cougars never trailed during the match and won 25-18.
Cecelia Tieken led the USF offensive attack with 11 kills. Lorraine Morales-Soto added six and Shellie Rumschlag had five. Rumschlag also had a team-leading three aces. Chelsea Hill delivered 22 assists while Abby Schnur led USF with 10 digs. Tieken added nine digs while Jessica Enterline and Hill had six apiece for USF. Rumschlag led the USF block with two solo and five assists.
The next contest for the Lady Cougars is Sat., October 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the Hutzel
Athletic Center.
