EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- University of Saint Francis sophomore Nick Adams and junior Matt Truttling drew the 2008-09 Cougars competition to a close Saturday on the final day of the 2009 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Both competed in the discus championships. Adams unleashed a best effort of 45.87 meters (150 feet, 6 inches) and secured 13th place out of a field of 24 competitors. Adams came into the meet as the No. 16 seed with a season high of 158-2 from the Indy Twilight Meet back on May 6.
Truttling finished 23rd out of 24 entries with
a best effort of 140-3 (42.75 meters). Truttling entered the competition as the No. 26 seed based on regular season best efforts. There were 27 qualifying efforts this season, but only 24 entered the national meet.
