University of Saint Francis junior Kaitlyn Klein has been selected Mid-Central College Conference Player of the Week for April 20-25.

Klein (Fort Wayne, IN / Snider H.S.) scorched St. Mary-of-the-Woods and Grace College pitching last week going 11-for-15 at the plate for a .733 batting average. Six of her 11 hits were for extra bases including her first career home run and five doubles for a 1.267. She had 10 RBI including five in Game 2 of a 10-1 win at Grace.

Klein, who has played mostly first base this season on defense, raised her batting average from .304 to .364 to move into the MCC Top 20 batting averages at No. 13. She also has at least one hit in eight of USF's last nine games and she leads USF in multi-hit games with eight.

This is her first MCC Player of the Week selection.
