Swinford wallops 2 homers in Game 2 win at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Stacey Swinford didn't like losing 8-6 in Game 1 and took it out on Anderson University in Game 2 belting a pair of home runs for 4 RBI in the Lady Cougars' 7-3 win on Thursday.

Swinford belted a solo homer with one out in the third inning of Game 2, then hammered a 3-run homer in the fourth inning, a 4-run inning for the Lady Cougars. Kinsey Schumann was the beneficiary in the circle of Swinford's offensive which included 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Swinford did have help in Game 2. Kyra Schutte went 3-for-4 scoring twice and Whitney Piercefield went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI.

Swinford's 3-run home run snapped a tie at 1 and USF never trailed the rest of the way.

Swinford went 2-for-4 in Game 1 and had 3 RBI, but Anderson scored scored seven runs in the second inning and thought USF battled back, the Lady Cougars fell short despite scoring six runs in their last three at-bats.
