Chad LaCross, Head  Men's Basketball Coach

Chad LaCross Chad LaCross brings all-NAIA post-play collegiate experience to the University of Saint Francis staff in his sixth season with the program.

LaCross was a three-time NAIA All-American at Tri-State University and after earning his undergraduate degree in sports and recreation, he played professional basketball for the Dodge City Legend in the United States Basketball League and in Mexico.

An East Noble High School graduate (Kendallville, IN), LaCross was an Indiana All-Star selection in 1997 becoming the first all-star at ENHS. While at TSU he set seven school records including all-time leading scorer. He led the NAIA in scoring in 2001 and after his senior season, LaCross became the first athlete in TSU history to have his jersey number retired. Tri-State University also inducted LaCross in the the athletic hall of fame, making him the youngest athlete in the history of the university to be given this honor.

LaCross earned his masters degree in physical education from Ball State University in 2007.

LaCross also serves as head men's and women's golf coach for USF. He resides in Fort Wayne with his wife Erin and daughter Ava.

Gay Martin, Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Gay Martin Gay Martin brings more than 40 years of coaching expertise to the Cougars' staff as he enters his seventh season on the University of Saint Francis basketball staff. Martin earned his undergraduate degree in education from Purdue University and his masters degree in education from the University of Saint Francis in 1970.

Prior to joining the USF coaching staff, Martin served as head basketball coach at Woodlan High School in Woodburn, IN, and in 21 years Martin's teams piled up 253 wins. His teams won six Allen County Athletic Conference Tournament championships, six Allen Country Athletic Conference regular season championships and three Fort Wayne IHSAA Sectional titles. Martin is a two-time ACAC Coach-of-the-Year.

Coach Martin resides in Hamilton with his wife Roslyn and is currently employed by East Allen County Schools where he is in his 41st year as a teacher.
