The University of Saint Francis will add a 16th Sport next year. USF Director of Athletics Mark A. Pope confirmed that Men's Tennis will be a new sponsored sport, starting in the Fall of 2010.

"Men's Tennis was a part of USF Athletics for years, starting in 1977,” said Pope. "For some unknown reason, it just disappeared. I think it's time to bring it back."

Pope noted that the group most interested in starting Men's Tennis again was the USF Women's Tennis Team. "I know that there are many dual meets played, and I think the Women's Team would enjoy their male counterparts support during matches, as well as in practice. Plus, Men's Tennis is the only sport in the Mid-Central College Conference in which USF does not participate."

Pope said that he will immediately begin a search for a Men's Tennis Coach, which will be a part-time position.

"We need to get a coach on board to start the recruiting process," said Pope.

Individuals interested in applying for the Men's Tennis Coach position should check the Employment Listings under the USF website: http://www.sf.edu/employment/ .
