FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- On a perfect mid-April Sunday afternoon, a crowd of more than 1,000 University of Saint Francis football fans saw a little of everything in the annual conclusion to spring drills in the annual Blue-White Game.
Right off the bat, Justin Boser connected with wide receiver Austin Coleman for
an 84-yard touchdown pass. Darrin Barger kicked a 25-yard field goal. The White team got a safety on the Blue team. Blue team member Cody Williamson scored on a 32-yard interception return. Taylor Vieck returned from a preseason 2009 injury to run and catch the ball including a 3-yard touchdown run. And four different quarterbacks threw for nearly 400 yards.
"I was pleased with the attitude and enthusiasm this spring," USF Kevin Donley said. "We've got things to work on and evaluate to get prepared for this fall. We'll be looking at tape evaluating performance and progress. We saw some good things today, it looks like we only had one injury of note, and we saw players making some things happen
on both sides of the ball."
The Blue team, quarterbacked by senior-to-be Shaine Tierney rallied to win 35-19.
